I’ve been writing professionally for about the last 15 years or so, for a few different online places. Here are some of my articles, essays, and ramblings.

Monkey Spit!

I wrote or co-wrote several of the fake websites, a few of the Fourth Wall comics (which I also drew) and the “Rantman’s Notebook” feature.

Comic Book Resources

From 2005 to 2012, I provided reporting and interviews from the San Diego Comic-Con for CBR.

Suspension of Disbelief

Now sadly defunct, the Suspension of Disbelief blog looked at how various topics such as science, law, religion, medicine and martial arts were portrayed in the comics and occasionally in TV and film. I wrote a few pieces on religion and archery for them.

eHow

I wrote a few tutorials and articles for eHow.

Wired’s GeekDad
GeekDad.com

From 2012 to 2018, I was a regular contributor to the GeekDad blog, which formerly was part of Wired.com and is now an independent site; I have written a number of articles for them on subjects ranging from archery to Burning Man, interviews and film reviews, pretty much anything geeky and family-friendly.

The Future Soon

My first attempt at writing fiction, a short story inspired by and based on the song of the same title by Jonathan Coulton. I thought the song’s story needed an ending, and I had one, so I wrote it. Is there such a thing as nerd-rock fanfic?
